The Leadership trait you’re rooted in
CaN YOU HEAR ME NOW?
When I think about the leaders who have shaped my career, it’s not their titles or their résumés that stand out and they aren't always the loudest in the room.
The most impactful leaders are the ones who know how to listen with intent. Strategic listening isn’t passive; it’s active, deliberate, and powerful. It’s the leader who can filter through noise, hear what’s really being said, and draw out perspectives that change the direction of a project.
Listen, discern, decide. Strong leaders aren't planning on what they are going to say in response to a comment. They are engaged and steadfast. Personally, I find it to be one of the more challenging areas as a leader to show up. It truly takes a lot of practice.
Have you ever taken a personal inventory of your ability to listen? How do you show up in a world full of noise and allow your voice to amplify differently so you feel heard? When was the last time you were in a conversation with someone and validated they felt heard in return?
"The strongest leaders don’t have all the answers — they ask better questions."
As you go into the weekend, ask yourself: “What’s one way I can show up as a better listener?" You might be surprised by what comes up — and it just might change your next conversation.
Take time to celebrate the wins no one sees…
