I’ve spent over 20 years in the dynamic and evolving food and beverage industry.
And I’ve witnessed the incredible potential and untapped power of women in this field.
Getting my master’s in organizational leadership reinforced my belief that women in the industry could use a leadership development program geared toward them.
The food and beverage industry is in a constant state of transformation, so it's my mission to provide women with the guidance, resources, and unwavering support they need to seize the opportunities that lie before them and position themselves for success.
my story
I was having huge amounts of success, yet I felt completely alone.
I was ready to move to new levels (in title and compensation), yet also juggling home life, travel, a husband and two teenagers.
I craved a community of women who understood the dynamics of the beverage industry. There’s a great deal of support when you’re “new” at something - a job, motherhood, most major life changes - but over time it fades into the background.
The reality is, the need for support doesn’t go away. I believe that women are stronger when they support and uplift each other. I created Rooted Connections to provide women the educational resources, leadership training, and personal growth practices to cultivate the courage they need to pursue their dreams, with a supportive network of colleagues and community to guide and inspire them.
How many times do we know in our gut that something is wrong, but we are too afraid to make a change? When I began my master’s program, I was at a very high point in my career success-wise, but I was deeply unhappy at my company and felt the leadership was toxic in ways that seeped through every pore of the culture.
My first course dove into toxic workplaces and I realized that if I was going to commit the time, money, and energy to a master’s program that focused on leadership, I needed to make a change.
I left that company and found myself at this crossroads in my career, I wasn’t a newbie anymore, and I had executive aspirations.

Empathy is an essential value that we embody, especially for women who are in the middle of their career and feeling stuck. Many women may be facing a range of challenges that can make it difficult to navigate their career such as: career transitions, balancing work and personal life and overcoming imposter syndrome. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment for women.

Our core value of connection goes beyond just creating networking opportunities and building relationships. It means fostering a sense of community, support, and belonging that uplifts and empowers women in the beverage industry. Specifically, we recognize that women in the middle of their career can often feel isolated and disconnected, as they navigate the complexities of work and life. Building connections with others who will promote and support you can be a game-changer for women who are looking to advance their careers or pursue new opportunities.
Courage
We believe that courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to take action despite fear. As women navigate the challenges of middle age or the middle of their career, it can be easy to feel stuck or unsure of what steps to take next. Courage is necessary to overcome these obstacles and move forward towards achieving one's goals and aspirations
